Accessibility of our offices
Our offices are on the first floor
Our offices are on the first floor (meaning the floor above the ground floor) of the building.
Stairs up to the first floor
There are stairs up to the first floor. There is a flight, a half-landing, and a second flight.
Lift to the first floor
There is also a passenger lift up to the first floor. This is very occasionally out of order. Unfortunately, this is out of our control because the lift is maintained by the landlord of the buildingas part of the shared services. So if you need to use the lift you should ask us on the day of your visit to specifically check for youthat it is working properly, before you set out to visit us.
Entering the building - two steps
there are two steps up to the main door of the building. if you are coming in a wheelchair, we can borrow a metal ramp from the main occupiers of the building, then if you ring us when you are nearly there, we can help you enter the building (and of course leave it again.) But you would need to give us a couple of hours' advance warning to make sure we can obtain the ramp, so please give us sufficient warning in advance if you will be visiting us and need to use a wheelchair. if you are not using a wheelchair, but you will otherwise have difficulties with access, please ring us in advance to assist you in reaching our offices which we will, of course, be delighted to do.
Parking - difficulties
Parking outside the building is extremely difficult. It is a busy main road. Parking is not allowed at any time. There are parking bays which are occasionally available on the other side of Grays Inn Road or in Coley Street. So if you are coming by car, you may need to come as a passenger so that the car can be parked a distance away.
Inside our offices
Once you reach our offices on the first floor, they are all on the same level.
Toilets
There are no toilets inside our office accommodation. The toilets are part of the common parts of the building. Women's toilets are on the ground floor and second floor of the building. Men's toilets are on the first floor and third floor of the building. There are no toilets specifically adapted for the disabled. once you are on the particular floor, there are no further steps to be negotiated in order to reach the toilet accommodation.
Other facilities or assistance you may need
if there is anything else you anticipate you may need for your visit with us, please discuss the situation with us in advance so we can tell you what the situation is, and discuss solutions.

to apply permanently the font and colour changes below:
- on the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
- on the General tab, select Accessibility

Changing the font
Using a sans serif font (such as Arial), rather than a serif font (such as Times New Roman) can make text easier to read.
- on the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
- on the General tab, click Fonts
- in the Proportional and Fixed-width font lists, select the fonts you would like to use.

Changing text and background colour
Website authors and designers often specify particular fonts, typefaces and background colours for their pages, and the combinations can sometimes make the text difficult to read. You can override these settings by choosing your own preferred, clearer colour scheme - black text on a yellow background gives the most contrast:
- on the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
- on the General tab, click Colors
- click on the tick box labelled Use Windows Colors
- click Text, and select the colour you want. Click OK.
- click Background, and select the colour you want to use. Click OK
To close images on web pages:
- on the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
- on the Advanced tab, scroll down to Multimedia
- click on Show pictures to remove the tick
- click on Apply, and then click on OK.
To change the size of the window:
- click Full Screen on the toolbar.
There are more options to make websites easier to read, such as removing animation and expanding text. To look at the other options:
