Pennyworn Road

The builder was Henry Harris, a Pimlico builder, who entered into an agreement with Lord Kensington for development of the road in 1873.  Between 1873 and 1875 he constructed Nos. 2-18 (even) on the north side and Nos. 1-7 (odd) on the south side.  These houses had three main storeys above a basement, as well as an attic storey in the roof.  They were designed in the Italianate style with Doric porticos and bay windows up to first floor level.  The façades are brick, with stucco used in the window surrounds.  They attic storey is behind a balustrade.

The rest of the houses were built from 1875 onwards and differ slightly in design, in that they have a full fourth storey, instead of the attic in the roof itself.  The houses are smaller in area at the Warwick Road end of the road.
