Kynance Place

Kynance Place is a very small mews-type street which runs between Gloucester Road and Launceston Place.

The south side consists of four two-storey houses with loft conversions and all are individual in design. No. 7 is particularly outstanding, with an extremely wide frontage.

On the north side of the street, the ground floor consists of commercial premises including a very attractive small restaurant and a French-style coffee shop.

The traditional Victorian, gas, street lamps (now converted to electricity) - painted in unusually bright green - add an extra, unusual touch to the street.

Kynance Place was part of the Inderwick Estate and was presumably developed along with Launceston Place in the early 1840’s.
